The new modular system for proximity sensors SME/SMT-8M plays a part in this simplification process. It fits all on Festo drives with a T-slot and, using a construction kit, it also fits on all round and tie-rod cylinders. It can be fitted, for example, on the ADN, DNC, DNG and DSNU cylinder series, to name just a few.
This means that nothing can go wrong now when you order drives and switches.
The central mounting is significantly sturdier, and the sensor fits flush with the cylinder slot. Wire breaks are a problem that has been solved by the SME/SMT-8M and are now virtually a thing of the past, thanks to the cable clips.
