5. Innovative, in-house energy concepts
At Festo’s production location in Rohrbach, Germany, intelligent systems for combined heat, cooling and power are used as a network of highly diverse energy generators and consuming devices. In 2007 this led to overall energy savings of more than 40% as opposed to comparable, conventional production facilities equipped to current standards. Savings amounted to 5217 MWh and a reduction of CO2 emissions by nearly 4000 tons per year.
