- How do you fit SMx 8M and 10M cylinder switches?

When fitting the new generation cylinder switches some users, familiar with older styles, will attempt to mis-fit the sensors as they seek to apply the old mechanism. This instruction sheet shows how a far stronger mounting is obtained with the new mechanism, dramatically improving mounting security even in high vibration applications. The critical issue is the sensor cam plate must lock from the underside of the sensor groove shoulder, securely pressing the sensor against the cylinder body. It should not clamp between the groove shoulders. If the sensor is mounted and then repositioned, the screw must be slackened off sufficiently to lower the cam plate (it is delivered ‘out of the bag’ in this lower position).
