Globalisation and local commitment are no contradiction for Festo. With its subsidiaries in 61 countries, Festo supports both global players and local customers and assumes responsibility for its actions as part of each economy in which it operates. One particular area of focus is education: including both the training of skilled staff and the transfer of knowledge.
Festo’s commitment to local society is also expressed in its Corporate Educational Responsibility (CER) (link). This includes the global transfer of technological know-how in cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH and Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft (CDG) e.V., as well as universities and local educational institutes. Festo promotes the development of future engineers with its participation in the international skills competition “WorldSkills”, in the disciplines mechatronics and mobile robotics (link), as well as the Festo Education Fund and many other international, national and regional projects. Festo is also committed to international education standards, more practice-oriented school curricula and outstanding technical achievements.
