Modular Lightweight Handling
As a learning system, Modular Lightweight Handling is extending the scope of the multiple-axis construction kit system; in combination with the range of products from Festo, it allows the construction of units ranging from an angle picker, via a tripod, up to six-axis articulated-arm kinematics. Schools can variably configure the handling system and thus convey knowledge for practical applications on the basis of real industrial components.
With a net weight of only 4 kg, a payload of up to 800 grams and six degrees of freedom, lightweight articulated-arm kinematics can be easily and inexpensively realised. For pick-and-place applications, in laboratory automation or as a "third hand" in the field of service robotics, it can be used without a protective cage, thus paving the way for interactive human-machine collaboration.
