Festo in painting

Festo in painting systems

Bright outlook

Cars are painted four or five times. And today's considerations are about tomorrow: with the use of environmentally-friendly materials such as water-based paints and the requirement to keep the air clean.

Festo makes a crucial contribution as its pneumatic components perform brilliantly in painting systems. This is particularly noticeable in the preparation of pilot and process air, which is a totally clean process. State-of-the-art compressed air preparation means that systems are not contaminated by water condensation or polluted by dirt and oil.

For example: Modern compressed air preparation

Festo service units provide clean air with standard or micro filter units. The lockable, combination manual on/off valves provide maximum reliability especially on service units.

How it works:

Cleaning
Solids occur as dust, soot, abrasion and corrosion. Festo service units increase the plant operating time by filtering these substances out of the air.

Drying
Dry, clean air is a prerequisite for a long service life of painting systems. Modern air preparation protects the process air against water condensation. This prevents corrosion in the compressed air network.

De-oiling
Even with oil-free compressors, oil aerosols pollute the atmospheric air with oil residue. However, this oil is not suitable for the lubrication of drives and can result in sensitive parts clogging up. Filters separate the oil in the service unit from the compressed air right into the µm range.

Free from paint-wetting impairment substances
With all lubricants, seals and in assembly, Festo ensures that paint-wetting impairment substances (PWIS) do not get into or onto the product. This results in effective protection against these substances, which can form blisters on the painted surface.
