Pneumatic drives

Pneumatic drives are intended to convert pressure energy into motion energy, a process involving the transmission and dissipation of forces.

Festo was the first manufacturer in Europe to create pneumatic cylinders; our first pneumatics range came out in 1956.

The advantage of new materials: PE tubing

Modern technology can reduce costs.

Thanks to new materials and manufacturing methods, tubing made of cross-linked PE (polyethylene) offer solutions in many fields and applications.

Benchmarks for drive technology

Festo places great importance on outstanding production quality: Every drive is subjected to a comprehensive test program with function, leakage and endurance tests. These provide statistics confirming service life characteristics for the best possible operational safety. The record-breakers were cylinders with a running performance of 82,000 km, meaning they could have travelled almost twice around the globe.
