They are supported by intelligent and innovative selection software when designing systems. An overall view of a system can often lead to significantly better functioning and thus improved efficiency.

Existing equipment can be systematically checked for any energy losses with Festo’s energy saving service. Concealed savings potentials are analysed and concrete solutions are proposed.

Festo demonstrates its commitment to promoting the topic of energy efficiency in a lasting manner through its involvement in various national and international research projects.

5. Innovative, in-house energy concepts

At Festo’s production location in Rohrbach, Germany, intelligent systems for combined heat, cooling and power are used as a network of highly diverse energy generators and consuming devices. In 2007 this led to overall energy savings of more than 40% as opposed to comparable, conventional production facilities equipped to current standards. Savings amounted to 5217 MWh and a reduction of CO2 emissions by nearly 4000 tons per year.
