We therefore strive to attract, retain and develop the best employees. In 2020, the Festo Group had a total of 20,422 employ- ees in 62 countries worldwide. GRI 102-8 Employment contracts by gender and region The total number of permanent and temporary employment con- tracts is shown in the graphic below. There are also activities carried out by trainees and students that do not fall into these two catego- ries. In 2018, this number was 637, in 2019, the number was 599 and in 2020, the number decreased slightly to 582. The turnover of employees reduced significantly in 2020. All in all, various pro- grammes and measures help Festo to continue to position itself as an attractive employer, even during times of crisis.
