Whether blood, enzymes, reagents, solutions or buffers – in medical diagnostics, heating of temperature-sensitive fluids can significantly impair the reliability of results. When developing the media-separated valves of the VYK valve family, Festo therefore exhausted all possibilities to minimize the influence of temperature – from a heat-optimized design and a holding current reduction to the possibility of decentralizing the control electronics. The VYKA valve, with its extremely low media heating, is particularly impressive. Watch the video to find out more about how you can use this solution to optimize the reliability of temperature-sensitive applications.

The success factors for minimized media heating

Festo's application engineers have investigated which factors in the design of a valve unit influence media heating and have derived specific recommendations from this. They also carried out tests on heat input into fluids with media-separated Festo valves and comparable products from other manufacturers. The results of the comparative tests and the recommendations can be found in our Application Note.
