Theoretical and practical skills in the use of new technologies and processes ensure that companies can continue to work innovatively and sustainably and enable people to participate from all cultural, political, social and economic aspects of a society. Festo is strongly committed to the development of teaching and learning environments and the global transfer of knowledge as a leading global partner of companies and educational institutions. We are proud to have partnerships that help us to enhance and improve Festo Didactic training and certification programs.
Humber College – Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation
The Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation is designed to inspire innovation, support skills development and promote science, technology, engineering, art and math outreach with industry and community partners.
The CTI builds on Humber’s expertise in areas such as automation, robotics, systems integration, user experience testing, applied research and work-integrated learning. With equipment that is unique to North America, key features include interactive technology zones, digital media studios, cutting-edge prototyping and makerspaces, open concept gathering spaces and demonstration areas for new products and technologies. Festo collaborates with Humber on a STEM outreach program to engage Ontario youth and provides internship opportunities for students at Festo headquarters in Germany, as well as employment pathways to Festo’s Customer Interaction Center in Toronto.
NC3 – National Coalition of Certification Centers
NC3 implements and sustains in-demand, portable, industry-recognized certifications built on national skill standards. Their Train-the-Trainer program is an important step toward enabling instructors from partner schools to implement and teach courses at their local school and certifies all instructors are delivering same level of qualification. The Festo Industry 4.0 Certification Program is a comprehensive certification that ensures students have the qualifying skills upon completion.
Skills Canada
Skills/Compétences Canada was founded in 1989 as a national, not‐for‐profit organization that works with employers, educators, labour groups and governments to promote skilled trades and technology careers among Canadian youth. Festo has been a proud sponsor of the Mechatronics competition in Canada since 1992. Contenders build a mechatronic system using Festo Didactic’s factory floor-ready training equipment – namely, the MecLab, MPS, Fluid Power, Industrial Controls, Mechanical and AC/DC systems - for the unique opportunity to engage in learning beyond the classroom and put their skills to the test in a real-world situation.
