The Center of Excellence for Industrial Automation and Mechatronics is an initiative which emerged from the cooperation between the government of Uruguay (Ministerio de Industria, Energía y Minería) and UNIDO.
The center offers training designed to increase the employability of the UTU (Universidad del Trabajo del Uruguay) students, as well as industrial productivity at the local and regional levels.
The FACT Center in Montevideo houses four labs – Multimedia and Simulation, Electricity, Electronics, and Drive Technology, Fluid Power, and a hybrid learning factory. The FACT Center was established in 2015.

The FACT Center in San Salvador is a joint project of the ITCA and German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) to establish a dual training program. Festo Didactic not only designed the layout of the labs, but also assisted in the project coordination.
The FACT Center houses three labs. One is equipped with basic technology for mechatronics, the other two with flexible manufacturing systems using process and industrial automation. One for dual training, the other for industrial training.
The FACT Center was established in three phases: 2008, 2011, and 2012.

The FACT Center at the Universidad Don Bosco (UDB) in El Salvador is equipped with a computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) system to effectively plan and design the entire industrial manufacturing process.
Production planning and organization are the main topics of the flexible manufacturing system (FMS).
The aim of UDB is to equip the students with the technical expertise they need to become certified specialists in automation technology and industrial automation. The center also offers courses for industrial engineers and technicians in the field of flexible manufacturing in industrial automation.
The FACT Center in Don Bosco houses one lab with an iCIM system – Industrial Robotics and CAD/CAM/CNC.
The FACT Center was established in 2010.

In 2015, the school received the go-ahead for the project, which was backed by the state of Baden-Württemberg and funded by regional businesses.
The learning labs were received enthusiastically by the vocational and technical students, teachers, and local industries. The school will be an important partner for many regional industrial companies in the future, offering specialized training tailored to the requirements of the respective production areas.
The Philipp-Matthäus-Hahn-Schule purchased five learning labs – CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, Hydraulics, Mechatronics, and Industry 4.0/Industrial Internet of Things.
The learning labs were installed in 2016.

Funding made available to the Ministry of Industry in Naypyitaw by the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) Frankfurt enabled the acquisition of the necessary equipment for the Sinde Vocational Training Program.
The aim of the program is to equip the students with the necessary technical skills and abilities to increase their employability, and in the long run, decrease poverty and unemployment, which benefits the local economy.
The Industrial Training Center houses many different labs – Electronics, Mechatronics, Control Technology, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and Building Automation, Refrigeration Technology, Machining Technology, Mold and Tool Making, EDM, Measurement Technology, CAD/CAM/CNC, Metalworking, and Welding Technology.
The Training Center was established in 2016/2017.

The Center of Excellence in Abuja is equipped with basic principles of industrial drive technology and process and factory automation. The ITF takes part in the accreditation process of the “National Board for Technical Education” (NBTE). The aim of the ITF is to equip the students with technical expertise in industrial drive technology, as well as in process and automation technology.
The ITF also offers various training modules for industrial engineers and technicians.
The learning labs also serve as a research center. The Center of Excellence in Abuja houses two labs – Industrial Drive Technology and Flexible Manufacturing through Process and Industrial Automation. The Center of Excellence was established in 2017.

The reason for the establishment of the FACT Center for Mechatronics was a lack of knowledge of university graduates, who could not fulfill the application-driven qualification requirements of local industry. To remedy the problem, a local company decided to work with Festo to establish a FACT Center to train its own staff, as well as local industry professionals.
In the meantime, the FACT Center, in cooperation with a local university, has established a new branch that offers students demand-driven education solutions.

Nile University has partnered with Festo to establish the FACT Center Cairo as part of the TEMPUS project (Advanced Engineering Systems: Bridging the Gap between Academia and Industry), which is capable of reaching out to industrial companies and meeting their technology and training needs.
The educational expertise of Festo, which is integrated into the Nile University labs, is customized to answer the needs of Egyptian industry. The training content of the labs covers pneumatics, sensors, and safety and control technology, as well as the commissioning, troubleshooting, and control of flexible manufacturing systems.
The FACT Center was established in two phases: Phase 1 in 2012, Basic Mechatronic Technologies, MPS® 200/MPS® PA, and Phase 2 in 2015, CAD/CAM/CNC .
