Would you like to flexibly combine remote I/O systems with electrical and pneumatic automation? And are you also looking to adapt the automation architecture of your machine to your individual design philosophy while generating as little cost and effort as possible?
Our modular remote I/O system CPX-AP-A is the answer to these questions and your requirements. Modern automation topologies ensure free and seamless connectivity, embedded in future-proof and compatible concepts for the flexible automation of entire machines or individual machine modules. And this is independent of the network used and without restrictions: pneumatic and electric, communicative and intelligent – perfect interaction, right through to the cloud.
Valve terminal variants with full range of functions mounted directly on the remote I/O
Separated system voltage and load voltage
Modules and interlinking blocks are made of sturdy, high-quality polymer with fiberglass
Metal is used wherever necessary because of standard requirements or for assembly
In the following image gallery you can find out more about the different possible configurations with remote I/O systems and a valve terminal. We will show you how modern automation topologies enable free and seamless connectivity for the flexible automation of entire machines or individual machine modules. And this is independent of the network used and without restrictions: pneumatic and electric, communicative and intelligent.

Remote I/O with CPX-AP
The remote I/O system CPX-AP, comprised of CPX-AP-A and CPX-AP-I, enables the connection of large amounts of I/O and pneumatic valves to the industrial network via a single Ethernet address. Connect a CPX-AP bus interface to the Ethernet network, then connect any number of CPX-AP input/output modules, IO-Link® masters, and valve manifolds to the bus interface (up to 80 participants per bus interface). This greatly reduces the number of IP addresses that must be configured, which saves time, and reduces the cost of having an Ethernet switch in every device, which saves money. The maximum distance between AP participants is 50 meters, which allows machines of any size to be efficiently fitted with remote I/O and valves. If a system needs to expand beyond 80 participants, additional bus interfaces can be easily added.
Decentralized remote I/O terminals CPX-AP-A
The automation system CPX-AP-A is the successor to the formidable CPX terminal-based I/O and integrated valve platform. CPX-AP-A combines inputs, outputs, IO-Link masters, and pneumatic valves onto a single, integrated, remote I/O terminal. Each terminal can connect to other CPX-AP-A terminals as well as CPX-AP-I remote I/O modules over the common AP backplane communication string, enabling seamless integration and an unprecedented level of flexibility in system topology. With real-time data rates of 200 Mbps, up to 15 modules per terminal, bus interfaces that support the most important industrial networking protocols, and functionality that extends data connections into the cloud, CPX-AP-A provides the ultimate in remote I/O and valve connections for the most demanding machines and system designs.
