EFZ design engineers work in development departments in the mechanical, electrical and metal industries (MEM industries), but also in engineering offices in medical, systems, electrical, automotive, aerospace and aerospace technology. In addition to new developments, modifications to existing products, systems and systems are part of her field of activity.
EFZ design engineers plan, design and construct individual parts and assemblies for products, systems and systems independently or in a team with other specialists on behalf of internal and external customers. In addition to functional fulfilment and manufacturability, they also take into account other aspects such as safety, ergonomics and sustainability. They recognize the potential of new technologies, adapt known solutions of technology or are inspired by phenomena of the natural sciences. You will create documents such as production, assembly and test documents
EFZ designers use digital technologies. Using computer-aided design, they develop and design models of products and create the corresponding production data in the same system. They are open to new technologies and solutions. They have the ability to recognize the potential of new manufacturing and assembly technologies.
Depending on the task, you will work alone or in a team and make effective use of your professional, social and personal skills. They are used to taking responsibility for their mission. EFZ design engineers are able to correctly assess situations, identify and analyse problems and propose appropriate solutions.
EFZ designers work in a networked working environment. They are characterized by a love of scientific basics, an interest in technical contexts, a structured approach, creativity and networked thinking. You will implement technical ideas by means of systematic solution search and decision-making techniques and create corresponding production documents. In doing so, they take into account the wishes and requirements of the client in the planning process, in compliance with the standards and guidelines. Ecological aspects are taken into account in the projects according to their commitment and environment.
EFZ designers implement the client's projects professionally and creatively in a modern office environment. For the implementation, they use appropriate software and hardware tools of the networked digital working world. They analyse technical problems of varying complexity, often in cooperation with other specialists such as project managers or engineers. Your precise approach and your pronounced quality awareness are the prerequisites for the successful implementation of the tasks assigned to you.
EFZ designers have a strong interest in new technologies and innovative solutions. The use of new technologies is examined and, where possible, used. Advancing digitization supports or facilitates their work, but at the same time challenges them. They follow technological change with interest and are constantly educating themselves. EFZ design engineers take responsibility for their actions, especially in the areas of occupational safety, health protection and environmental protection.
EFZ design engineers develop future-oriented products at the beginning of the production chain, taking into account both ecological and economic aspects. Their commitment to sustainability is particularly evident in the use of resource-saving materials and energies. In addition, with their innovative solutions, they make a significant contribution to Switzerland as a business location with its successful export industry. The energy- and resource-optimized design, the correct sizing of the developed systems and the thinking in terms of complete life cycles play an important role in reducing consumption and the optimal use of resources in order to achieve climate and energy policy goals.
General education includes basic skills for orientation in the personal life context and in society as well as for overcoming private and professional challenges.
