ROTAN GmbH è stata fondata nel 1987 a Dannstadt vicino a Ludwigshafen. Oggi esistono altre due filiali a Leuna e Rostock. I sistemi di pulizia a base d'acqua di ROTAN sono adattati perfettamente ai requisiti degli articoli da pulire e al grado di pulizia richiesto. ROTAN costruisce sistemi di pulizia conformi a GMP/FDA per l'industria alimentare e farmaceutica. Questi devono soddisfare elevati requisiti di sterilità. ROTAN sviluppa anche impianti per la pulizia di fusti e serbatoi che vengono a contatto con principi attivi tossici e altamente potenti. Questi impianti funzionano in quattro fasi:

1. Introduzione del serbatoio in acciaio inossidabile
2. Apertura del coperchio del serbatoio da una cabina di comando protetta
3. Pulizia interna ed esterna del serbatoio
4. Rimozione dei serbatoi tramite una zona cuscinetto

Componenti robusti e resistenti alla corrosione

Dopo ogni pulizia del serbatoio, è necessario pulire o decontaminare anche le protezioni personali e le cabine di pulizia. Durante il normale funzionamento, ciò avviene ogni ora con acqua, acido e soda caustica, possibilmente anche con detergenti specifici per il cliente.

In tali scenari è estremamente importante che i componenti di automazione utilizzati siano robusti e affidabili: ogni guasto o fermo macchina durante il processo di pulizia risulta in un intervento complesso e dispendioso in termini di tempo. Per questo, i dipendenti devono indossare speciali dispositivi di protezione individuale, perché il personale di servizio è esposto ad un alto rischio di contaminazione.

Automation with rust-free stainless steel

Festo supplied the sturdiest possible components for each of the process steps in this cleaning system, from the stainless steel ISO cylinder CRHD to the service units for air preparation:

• Components for sealing the locks: inflatable seals with stainless steel nozzle and PLN tubing on the airlock door.
• Components for testing the rubber gloves for leaks, with pressurisation and monitoring via a valve terminal and pressure sensor.
• Pneumatic cylinder for precisely opening and closing the locks, made of stainless steel for inside the cleaning chamber, and of aluminium for the outer door.
• Stainless steel pneumatic cylinder for locking the vessel frame, and for moving the washing lances inside the cleaning chamber.
• Corrosion-resistant one-way flow control valve for controlling the pneumatic cylinder speed.
• Corrosion-resistant pneumatic tubing and stainless steel fittings for distributing compressed air in the isolator and in the cleaning chamber.
• Components for preparing, supplying and controlling compressed air: valve terminal and individual valves for actuating the pneumatic cylinders and pneumatically operated process valves in the system.
