Festo data protection statement
Upon granting consent, you agree to our general data protection policy.
Collection and processing of personal data
Our web server stores the IP address allocated by the Internet provider, the URL from which you have accessed our website, the websites visited by yourself and the date and time of your visit on a routine basis. In some cases, Festo utilises cookies in order to be able to place more individualised services at your disposal. Personal data is only stored if it is entered by yourself, for example when you fill in a registration form or a survey, participate in a raffle or enter into a contract. By registering for an event, you are expressly declaring your agreement to our use of your data strictly for the purposes of registration and processing of the event, and if applicable to the forwarding of such data to our subcontractors. Otherwise we will neither forward your data to any third parties nor send any advertising from third parties to you.
Use and forwarding of personal data and earmarking for specific purposes
In compliance with the applicable data protection regulations, your personal data will only be collected, processed and used for the purpose of contract execution and for the protection of our own legitimate business interests with regard to customer support and consultation, and for product development in accordance with actual market requirements.
Right to obtain information and public procedure register
Upon request, and in accordance with applicable law, we will provide you with written notification indicating whether or not and which of your personal data we retain. The types of entries maintained are summarised in our public procedure register in accordance with § 4e BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act).
Festo implements technical and organisational security measures in order to protect the data we use against random or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in accordance with technological developments.
If you have any questions regarding the processing of your personal data, you can contact our data protection officer who is available to assist you with requests for information, suggestions and complaints.
Google AdWords Tracking
As an AdWords customer, we also use Google Conversion Tracking, an analysis service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). This enables Google AdWords to place a cookie in your browser (conversion cookie) if you have accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies become invalid after 90 days and are not used for the purpose of personal identification. If you visit certain of our pages and the cookie is still valid, we and Google can recognise the fact that someone has clicked on the ad and has thus been forwarded to our website. Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be traced back via the websites of AdWords customers. The information retrieved via the conversion cookie is used to prepare conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have decided to make use of conversion tracking. AdWords customers are informed of the total number of users who have clicked on their ad, and have thus been forwarded to a website which contains a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified. If you do not want to participate in the tracking process, you can refuse any setting of cookies which would be required for tracking – for example via a browser setting which universally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies. You can also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting up your browser so that cookies from the domain “googleadservices.com” are blocked.
We use Remarketing technology provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). With this technology, users who have already visited our websites and online services, and who have demonstrated an interest in our offerings, are addressed again through targeted advertising on the pages of the Google Partner Network. Advertising is displayed by using cookies, i.e. small text files which are saved on the user’s PC. The user’s behaviour during his or her visit to the website can be analysed with the help of these text files, and can then be used to generate targeted product recommendations and interest-based advertising.
