On November 2, 2016, Festo Canada proudly participated in the 22th Annual “Take Our Kids to Work Day”. Festo has participated in this program for the last 11 years!
The five participating Grade 9 students spent the day gaining hands-on experience in all of the departments at Festo. The departmental sessions were interactive and a great "real life" learning experience for all. The main highlights of the day were building and testing their own bionic fin gripper, engineering a pneumatic circuit and constructing a bridge.
About “Take Our Kids to Work Day”
The program is organized by "The Learning Partnership", a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing together business, education, labour, policy makers and the community to develop partnerships that strengthen public education in Canada. The program has brought together parents, relatives, friends of families, teachers, and people in workplaces across Canada to contribute to the career development of young people.
The "Take Our Kids to Work" program illustrates the importance of education, skills development and training while giving students the opportunity to experience the world of work and the variety of career opportunities that await them.
