Festo were once again sponsors of Automate UK, a conference that is part of the Future Factory Series run by The Manufacturer magazine. Leaders from UK manufacturing gathered at the Waldolf Hilton in London to hear speakers from industry talk about a range of topics.
Festo's Neil Lewin presented a paper titled 'Champion or Saboteur! – Dealing with Different Levels of Engagement for Successful Automation Projects' which offered delegates an insight into how to gain support and manage engagement from stakeholders in an automation project and ensure that it delivers against it's original objectives.
In the presentation Neil highlighted that often issues with engagement only come to light after a project has gone wrong, but it does not have to be this way. Leaders can take the initiative by using a simple engagement model and associated tools to assess project stakeholers and tailor their management and communications accordingly.
