Festo were the official sponsor for the Works Management Manufacturing conference held at the Hinckley island hotel on the 20th and 21st November.
Focussing on Continuous Improvement techniques this event runs annually and included site visits to Bombardier, Triumph and Weetabix as part of its program.
Festo provided a workshop aimed at identifying the engaged and disengaged employees within business and how to manage them for the best results.
Presented in the guise of a Cluedo type mystery it also enlisted the help of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson. Participants entered in to the spirit of the workshop and found out not only how difficult this task can be but also how productivity levels can be improved with good employee engagement. With documented levels of actively disengaged employees running at 27% in the UK there is clearly a great deal of work to be done in improving productivity within manufacturing.
The workshop was rated as good and excellent by every delegate that attended and all went away armed with tools and action plans to begin their own engagement journeys.
