GCSE Product Design students visit Festo

We were pleased to welcome pupils from Caroline Chisholm School in Northampton to our head quarters. They are studying for their GCSE in Product Design and keen to see what an automation company does.

After a short introduction to both Festo and pneumatics they carried out a practical workshop on the difference between a pneumatic cylinder and a Festo Fluid Muscle.  A tour around the Festo display area and a look at Modular Production System rigs that we use for training our apprentices were topped by two more complicated workshops. The students rose to the challenge as did their two teachers.

Festo are firmly committed to inspiring and developing young engineers for the future. This encompasses support of local schools, colleges and universities within a variety of programs and events.
