Eriks & Festo machine safety event

On 13th July 2016 Eriks in conjunction with Festo held a Machine Safety Event at Festo GB Headquarters in Northampton.  This Event proved to be a great networking and educational opportunity for all of the 50 delegates attending many of whom were from leading organisations including Pirelli Tyres, Knauf, Renishaw, Warburtons and Ford.

During the morning, Festo’s Safety Manager, Bob Jackson presented on the ‘Exhausting Aspect of Air’; solutions to overcome common errors to meet the standard’s needs. This was followed by an exhibition and networking session.

Afternoon presentations included; Pilz’s Certified Machinery Safety Expert, Dave Collier, who spoke about ISO 14119 latest standard for safe interlocking on machines and introduced the concepts of fault measures to prevent fault masking and manipulation of guards.  From ERIKS, Andy Bevan and Vic Harris presented case studies on the practical implementation of machine safety in a wide variety of applications across industry and the day was rounded off with a question and answer session, with a panel made up of the presenters from the day.

Along with Festo, the day was also supported by Stanley Black and Decker, Wearwell, Brady and Pilz, who exhibited their products and were on hand to speak with customers in the main exhibition area.
