This year’s UK Skills event took place over the 17th – 19th November at the NEC and as a global partner Festo were once again sponsoring the Mechatronics and Industrial Control sectors.
Ben Nolan and Joshan Tailor from Festo GB took part in the Mechatronics competition and fought hard but the competition this year was very tough. Ben says “As always we take this as a learning opportunity on what we need to improve on so we not only benefit ourselves in events such as these but in our careers at Festo too”.
In addition to the competition Festo also hosted a stand to promote engineering to the 80,000 plus attendee’s over the three days. Days one and two of the exhibition focus on visitors from within the education system with the Saturday seeing more families attending for specific career advice. The Festo ping pong ball Feed Unit, cube manipulator, dancing DJ Robots and Air_Motion ride ensured the audience were entertained and the Festo stand team ensured that careers in engineering were shown to be exciting, professional and enjoyable.
