Festo are proud to have once again been invited to attend the Jaguar Landrover Innovations event at the visitor centre in Castle Bromwich. This two day event, which took place on 6th & 7th February, showcased the winners of an internal competition across the whole of JLR for employees demonstrating innovation in the workplace.
The event had a series of seminars, including one run by Festo where Andy Parker-Bates talked about Future Factories. There was a showcase of innovations, displays and industry inspired competitions and games from core suppliers. Festo demonstrated its Robotino robot and ran a competition to spot the difference between good and bad pneumatic circuits.
Future events will include all JLR international sites and are growing in their significance to the company. As a result the senior management at JLR will be much more visible and involved in their support for the event in the coming years as they understand the need for innovation is fundamental to their future success. Wolfgang Stadler, JLR Executive Director Manufacturing, said at the event “A company without innovation isn’t just standing still, it is going backwards”.
