Festo Training and Consulting were exhibiting this week at the Manufacturing Management Show at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Neil Lewin from Festo Training & Consulting was also invited to talk about Festo's involvement with Industry 4.0 and particularly the impact that Industry 4.0 will have on skills requirements for the future. This is especially important for GB manufacturing which is already facing its greatest skills shortage for a long time.
The seminar attracted over 60 attendee’s and sparked a series of in-depth discussions on a one to one basis. Key topics emerging from these conversations were around the assessment of current competency levels within engineering teams, the application of bespoke training to address specific areas around safety, energy efficiency and employee engagement.
"It was encouraging to see a number of manufacturers embracing Industry 4.0 in their future development plans and it was here that Festo were also able to offer support in the form of both Introductory and Advanced workshops around Industry 4.0 and its implementation".
