Introduction to the most commonly used process valves
Competition in the process automation industry is becoming fiercer, and businesses have to constantly adapt their machines to remain competitive. Updating old process valves in plants with advanced valves is vital in this industry. Festo will be hosting a one-hour webinar that focuses on common process valves for linear and rotary actuation to help you make an informed decision before selecting the ideal valves for your machines. Our industry experts will introduce you to Festo valves that are customised to provide your machines with better control, longer service life and reduced costs in this webinar. If you require to broaden your general understanding of ball, butterfly, plug, gate, penstock, knife, diaphragm, seat and globe, this webinar is ideal for you.
Course date: 21 May 2020

Festo will be hosting a free Live Webinar to demonstrate how the Smartenance app can be used to schedule maintenance and eliminate the need for coordination with just a few clicks in your industrial plant. We will show you the differences between the basic and advanced packages. This webinar will be hosted by our resident Smartenance specialist, Patrick Prent. All interested attendees are advised to download the trial Smartenance app before joining the Webinar.

How to size actuators for butterfly and ball valves
Specifying and accurately sizing process valves and their respective actuators is a common frustration for most suppliers, end-users and OEMs. This frustration often results in the under-sizing, over-sizing and premature failure of process valves as well as actuators. This training intends to provide you with practical tools to ensure that you obtain all the information required to make an informed selection. Additionally, we will show you how to size a butterfly and ball valve from first principles as well as introduce you to free sizing software that can potentially save you hours of configuring your application.

Learning Systems

LIVSIM EMS: Hands-on Hardware Simulation of Electro-Mechanical Systems
LVSIM-EMS is a web-browser based application, that allows you to work with virtual electrical equipment e.g. AC/DC Motors, and instruments e.g. Power Meters, as if you were in the lab. The simulation software can either be installed locally on a Windows® personal computer (local version), on a Windows server (network version) or accessed directly online through the labvolt.com website. This software covers the same courses such as Computer-Assisted 0.2 kW Electromechanical Training System, Model 8006-1, Electromechanical Training System, Model 8010-9, Power Transmission Training System, Model 8010-B, etc.

CIROS training sessions – Virtual Reality training sessions
Ciros is the virtual learning environment for mechatronics with a focus on PLC controlled systems. It offers an ideal working environment for PLC programming based on Siemens S7 and other manufacturers' control systems. A virtual learning environment for the mechatronics training system MPS® is also included. Festo is offering three CIROS training sessions to help you broaden your knowledge in this field.

CIROS – TIA Portal
