Through targeted research collaborations and joint projects, Festo works with partners to develop future-oriented technologies and thus makes a decisive contribution to ensuring its position at the forefront of technology in the long term.
The dynamic developments in the different areas of technology enable new, future-oriented approaches. The complex technological questions mean that various specialists across different disciplines and organisations need to work together effectively.
Festo is committed to a research and innovation culture based on partnership. Together with network partners, we are exploring future perspectives and intelligent approaches, and thus also contribute to Germany’s position as a centre for technology.
As part of the platform, representatives from government, associations and trade unions as well as from business and science, work together to shape the digital structural change in industry. Festo is involved in the platform’s steering committee and in working committees, among others. Festo is also active in GAIA-X and the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA e.V.).
The Fluid Power Association of the VDMA supports the interests of 200 German hydraulics, pneumatics and sealing technology manufacturers and thus represents over 85 per cent of the German market. It is also an important platform for the mutual exchange of information. Festo is on the board of the Fluid Power Association and is also active in the precompetitive joint research in the Fluid Power Research Fund.
The focus of this cross-sector technology cluster is microsystem technology. With over 360 partners, it is one of the largest networks in Europe. Festo is a network partner and active in various professional groups.
The European Factories of the Future Research Association (EFFRA) is an industry association that promotes the development of new and innovative product technologies in the context of the public–private partnership "Made in Europe". Festo plays an active role in the various committees of the association and is a popular interlocutor for the European Commission.
The ZVEI Automation Division is the platform for all companies involved in automation technology, industrial information and communication technology, as well as industry-related services in Germany. It promotes dialogue between industry, the government and society and represents the interests of the automation industry in Germany and around the world. Festo is on the board of the ZVEI and is involved in various committees, including on modular production and digital engineering in collaboration with NAMUR – the User Association of Automation Technology in Process Industries.
