Controllers can be replaced by another controller in the topology editor. The controller type is changed to CODESYS, and the source code and device connections are retained.

Information stored locally in the plug-in, such as the module configuration of CPX-E controllers, is lost during this process.

If multiple devices are selected that support this function, the entry in the context menu is activated and replaces all selected devices with the selected device.

  1. Select the ‘Replace Device’ command in the context menu.

    The command is disabled (greyed out) if the selected device does not support this function.

  2. The device catalogue opens in a pop-up, as with the ‘Add Device’ command.

    The search within the pop-up is limited to the specific controller equipment category.

  3. The ‘Replace Device’ button changes the type of equipment after a query.

    This action cannot be undone.
