APDDs from AP devices

The device description of an AP device (APDD) is installed, updated or uninstalled in the backstage section of the Festo Automation Suite under ‘Repositories’ in the ‘AP Devices’ view. This is possible even if the connection to the AP device is disconnected.

Symbol	Function
	To search for device description files for AP devices on APDDfinder. To do this, enter the manufacturer name, device name, part number or product name. If you are connected to the internet, the search will start automatically as soon as a search term is entered.
Found devices	The devices found are displayed with their variants. Clicking on a device displays the available APDD versions for the device. ‘Install’ button Installs the selected APDD version and the matching device. ‘Details’ Displays APDD version details such as the IO-Link revision or supported devices. ‘Disclaimer’ Displays the disclaimer for APDD files from the APDDfinder platform. ‘Install all’ Installs all versions of an APDD file. ‘Notify me if a new version is available’ Activate checkbox to display new versions of APDD files in the ‘Notification Center’.
	Checks for updates of installed APDD files.
	To install an APDD file from a local file directory.
