Remote I/O systems with an EtherCAT bus interface (e.g. CPX-AP-I-EC) can be connected to a Festo controller in the topology editor (e.g. CPX-E-CEC-C1-EP). If such a connection is established, the devices of the remote I/O system CPX-AP are automatically added to the CODESYS object tree below the EtherCAT master è Online help for CODESYS extension.
Attaching the devices includes the bus interface and the connected CPX-AP modules. The sequence is based on the AP addresses of the CPX-AP modules. The AP addresses are called up each time the configuration is changed and the sequence is updated in the CODESYS object tree. The parameter values set in the plug-in are also automatically imported and updated in the startup parameters of the device in CODESYS.

The startup parameters in the ‘Programming’ context of the remote I/O system do not need to be set. They will be overwritten if parameters are changed in the ‘Parameterization’ context of the CPX-AP.
