The CPX-AP plug-in allows both individual CPX-AP-I devices and remote I/O systems (CPX-AP-A systems) to be configured, parameterised and diagnosed. A remote I/O system CPX-AP typically consists of the following components:
-
A bus interface
-
One or more AP modules
A separate plug-in instance opens for every individual device and for every device that is part of a remote I/O system. The plug-in uses the terminal to display the structure of a remote I/O system.
Remote I/O systems CPX-AP can be exported to the backstage section of the Festo Automation Suite and used in ROCKWELL AUTOMATION control systems. The CPX-AP plug-in also supports the integration of EtherNet/IP-based CPX-AP systems in ROCKWELL AUTOMATION control systems.
The device description files (APDD) required for the AP devices can be automatically downloaded by APDDfinder or installed from a local file storage system. They are then available in the repository under ‘AP Devices’ and can be managed there.

The plug-in is installed, updated and, if necessary, uninstalled in the Festo Automation Suite. The language of the user interface is also changed in the Festo Automation Suite è online help of the Festo Automation Suite.
Communication ports
The plug-in uses the following communication ports. If you have problems with remote access, configure the communication ports correctly in the router and set the IP address of the target device manually in the connection control of the plug-in.
