When establishing a connection with the device, the modules actually present are read from the device and added to the project ⮫ Synchronisation of device configuration and parameterisation.
Read into the topology editor
-
Open the topology editor of the Festo Automation Suite.
-
Right-click on a CPX-AP interface and select the ‘Scan for AP Devices’ item in the context menu.
The connected CPX modules are searched and displayed as a list in a dialogue in the order of the AP addresses.
-
In the dialogue click the ‘Add AP Devices’ button to insert the found modules.
-
If there was at least one AP connection already in the project, a query is displayed asking whether the existing connections should be deleted.
The found CPX-AP modules are added with the ‘Yes’ button. The previously connected modules remain in the project as separated from the CPX-AP interface.

The import can be initiated either actively in the topology editor or implicitly during the device scan.
Importing after device scan
If an unknown AP device is detected during the device scan, it is automatically imported into the device catalogue and is available for further projects.
If a remote I/O system is imported from a device scan into a project, all modules connected to the interface are automatically imported as well.
