Before the plug-in is connected to a remote I/O system CPX-AP, the topology of the target system is compared with the topology of the configured system in the project.
Topology comparison
If the topology matches, the connection can be established with all modules of the target system. For this, all modules of the target system must also be present in the topology editor and connected to the same modules.
If the topology does not match, a connection can only be established with the modules that are correctly positioned in the project's topology. A dialogue that displays the differences in the topology opens and enables the following actions:
Possible actions |
Function |
|---|---|
‘Ok’ |
‘Cancel’ |

The remote I/O system CPX-AP can be fully integrated into the project with the device scan. This only requires adding the bus interface with all subordinate modules to the project via the device scan.
Parameter comparison
Before the connection is established, a check is performed to determine whether the writable parameter values of the target system match the parameter values of the configured system. If writable parameter values differ, the differences are displayed in a dialogue. The following actions are then possible:
Possible actions |
Function |
|---|---|
‘Write To Device’ (default) |
‘Read From Device’ |
‘Cancel’ |
The parameters are only compared for the CPX-AP modules open in the current session. The parameters of the plug-in instances that are not opened are not compared.
If a CPX-AP module of the connected CPX-AP network that has not yet been opened is opened in the current session, the dialogue window is displayed again for this plug-in instance for comparison with the parameters. After the comparison, the plug-in instance is also directly connected.
Parameter adjustment
After the parameter comparison, all parameters are automatically adjusted cyclically.
