‘Identification’

Starts or stops the identification function of the device, e.g. a flashing LED on the device. When the connection is broken, the identification function is switched off automatically.

The identification function can be used to determine whether the opened instance of the plug-in is connected to the correct device.

Additionally in the ‘Parameterization’ context

‘Force All’

Sets force values prepared in the ‘Process Data’ panel. When disconnecting, the force values are automatically reset.

‘Unforce All’

Terminates forcing of all signals of the current plug-in instance.

‘Store on Device’

Permanently save the current parameterisation on the device.

Prerequisite: the plug-in is connected to a device.

‘Load Factory Settings’

Load factory settings of the device.

Prerequisite: the plug-in is connected to a device.

‘Reset to Default Values’

All parameters except for the trace settings are reset to the plug-in defaults after confirming the query.

‘Restart Device’

Restart AP-Master. Unsaved settings will be lost.

‘Record Diagnosis Data’

‘Recording...’

Users of large AP installations can obtain information on the cable quality to identify potential causes of communication problems.

The results are displayed in the ‘Diagnosis’ context on the ‘System State’ panel ⮫ System status.

On completion of the recording a file selection dialogue will automatically appear to save the recorded data. The saved files can be opened on the ‘Offline Diagnosis’ panel ⮫ Offline diagnostics. The recording must run for at least three minutes in order to obtain meaningful data.

If the device is disconnected or an error occurs, a message is displayed and the data recorded up to that point can be saved if desired. It may be necessary to restart the AP master module if an error occurs.

‘Start Trace’

Start currently configured recording on the device ⮫ Configure recording.

If a recording is active or the device is waiting for a trigger, an information symbol is displayed over the deactivated ‘Start Trace’ button. The remaining recording time is displayed while the recording is in progress.
