The ‘Parameters’ panel of the ‘Parameterization’ context enables parameterisation of the module. The panel shows only parameters that can be written.
The read-only parameters are shown in the ‘Diagnosis’ context ⮫ Module panels of the terminal.
Some modules can be configured in different variants, e.g. to operate them with a special process data length. The variant can then be selected in the left sidebar.
With a terminal the integrated modules are parameterised in the plug-in instance of the terminal. Single modules are parameterised in the separate plug-in instance of the applicable module.

Cyclical update
If instances of the plug-in are connected to a device or system, the parameters for all connected instances are cyclically read from the device or system. The cyclic update makes it possible to monitor whether a parameter is changed by a higher-level controller.
If an input field is currently selected, the selected value is not overwritten by the cyclic update so that this value can be changed.
If the reading of a parameter fails, the adorner is highlighted in colour as a warning. The adorner also displays a warning symbol and the description of the warning. The instance of the plug-in continues to try to read all parameters cyclically. If the parameter is successfully read, the warning is automatically removed.
Selection of the variant
Some modules can be configured in different variants, e.g. to operate them with a special process data length. The variant can only be selected as long as no connection to the system has been established. It is primarily relevant if the configuration is to be exported to a ROCKWELL AUTOMATION control system. Since it is not possible to change the variant in the running system, it is always imported by the target system when the connection is established and can only be changed again when the connection to the system has been disconnected.
Bus interface
The ‘Parameterization’ context of the bus interface displays the ‘Navigator’ sidebar if a connection is planned between the bus interface and a controller (e.g. via EtherCAT). The working section can then be switched to the ‘CODESYS’ panel ⮫ CODESYS.
Exporting the configuration
The configuration and parameterisation of systems with EtherNet/IP-based bus interfaces can be exported in the Festo Automation Suite backstage section with the ‘Export’ function and used in control systems of the ROCKWELL AUTOMATION.
The following items are taken into account when exporting project data:
