An IO-Link system consists of the following components:
-
Bus interface
-
IO-Link master
-
One or more IO-Link devices
Configuring an IO-Link system means selecting these components and connecting them to one other for communication.

Bus interface (here CPX-AP-I-EP-M12)

IO-Link master (here CPX-AP-I-4IOL-M12)

IO-Link connection

IO-Link device (here EPCE-TB)

AP address

The IO‑Link master and the IO‑Link device can only be connected or disconnected if the connection to the IO‑Link device is not active.
-
Open the topology editor in the Festo Automation Suite.
-
Add an appropriate device.
-
Use the mouse to draw lines between the connectors to connect the components of an IO‑Link system.
The connectors of the devices of an IO‑Link system are shown in orange. Only connectors that match one other can be connected to one other.
The IO‑Link devices are connected to ports 0 to 3 of the IO‑Link master.
