A device connected to the IO‑Link master can be added to the project in the topology editor on a IO‑Link master with the ‘IO-Link device scan’ function.

Right-click on the IO-Link Master to open the context menu in the ‘Topology Editor’ of the Festo Automation Suite.

Select the ‘Scan IO-Link device’ command.
The connected IO-Link devices are searched and displayed as a list in order of IP address in a dialogue. If necessary, the search can be repeated with the ‘Refresh’ button.

Add the found modules in the pop-up window with the ‘Add a Device’ button.
The device is added to the project and can be processed.
The required IODD files are installed automatically when the device is added if there is an active Internet connection. If the installation of the IODD files is cancelled, the device will not be added to the project.
