The IO-Link plug-in enables the parameterisation, commissioning and diagnostics of IO-Link-capable devices with the Festo Automation Suite.

The IO-Link plug-in updates all data cyclically when the connection to the device is active. Inputs to the plug-in are immediately transferred to the device.

A IO‑Link system typically has a bus interface, a IO‑Link master and at least one IO‑Link device.

The device description files required for the IO-Link devices can be automatically downloaded from IODDfinder or installed from a local file storage - they are then available in the repository at ‘IO-Link IODDs’ and can be managed there.

The plug-in is installed, updated and, if necessary, uninstalled in the Festo Automation Suite. The language of the user interface is also changed in the Festo Automation Suite è online help of the Festo Automation Suite.
