Devices can be added from the device scan in the topology editor. A recognised topology is also added.

  1. Open the ‘Device Scan’ register in the sidebar of the ‘Topology Editor’ of the Festo Automation Suite.

    The network is automatically searched for devices. Found devices are listed.

  2. Press and hold the left mouse button to drag the device to a free location in the ‘Topology Editor’.

    The device is added to the project and can be processed.

    The required IODD files are installed automatically when the device is added if there is an active Internet connection. If the installation of the IODD files is cancelled, the device will not be added to the project. The compatible IODD versions for a device found in the device scan can also be displayed in the right sidebar via ‘IO-Link IODDs’ and installed if necessary.
