For example, the device catalogue can be filtered by classifications such as product families, device types or order codes.

  1. Search for the device in the selected equipment category in the ‘Device Catalog’ register in the ‘Topology Editor’.

  2. Press and hold the left mouse button to drag the device to a free location in the ‘Topology Editor’.

    The device is added to the project and can be processed.

    The required IODD files are installed automatically when the device is added if there is an active Internet connection. If the installation of the IODD files is cancelled, the device will not be added to the project. The device catalogue at IO‑Link devices displays the IODD version in the tooltip under ‘Device Version’, making it easier to select the correct device.
