These software environments are used both for designing pneumatic systems and for sizing complete kinematic axis systems. Other tools are also available for parameterising and configuring valve terminals and electric servo drives.
Appropriate device description files are available for connecting Festo components to higher-level controllers, thus enabling integration into the host systems.
Festo offers a programming system to IEC 61131-3 (CODESYS) for programming controllers.
