Flexible in use

Balancer systems support numerous applications in the automotive industry where heavy weights have to be moved during final assembly. The car manufacturer KIA Motors in Slovakia uses balancer systems with the drive solution YHBP for various tasks:

  • Mounting tyres
  • Removing doors before varnishing
  • Installing batteries in hybrid vehicles

Highlights in detail

Extremely fast, automatic weight detection

Operation is child's play thanks to the innovative control with a pneumatic, ergonomic handle. The system automatically detects the weight of the load and adjusts the balancing force by itself. It also takes into account any weight changes in the suspended state. This is helpful when production processes with large numbers of variants need to be really flexible. Suitable for weights of 70 – 999 kg.

Two selectable operating modes

YHBP is the solution for all kinematic systems, with a choice of two operating modes:

  • Position retention: weight changes are quickly detected and automatically compensated, e.g. when adding or removing different loads, such as when fitting tyres. The balancer system can only be moved with the handle.
  • Load-controlled operation: movement is possible either with the handle or directly at the load, e.g. when precisely fitting a dashboard or installing doors.

Safe even with load loss - Safety to PL d

An additional safety component guarantees the safety of the system to PL d. It monitors the system for a safely limited speed. If it is exceeded, the air in the cylinder is shut off in two ducts so that the system stops. A voltage or compressed air failure will also prevent the system from moving (SLS, SSC).

Five inputs for predefined functions

Five digital inputs can be used to implement user-defined special functions for controlling the balancer system. The following functions are available for the individual inputs in the web visualisation selection menu:

  • Speed limit (edge or level controlled)
  • Pre-select load
  • Move up/down
  • Switch to load-guided mode
  • Exhaust cylinder
