We are delighted that you are considering an integrated degree course with Festo. Do you still have questions after having read the other pages? If so, we are bound to have an answer for you, as we are asked certain questions on a regular basis. We have gathered our replies together here for you.
Prior to the integrated degree course
What requirements do I have to meet if I want to do my integrated degree at Festo?
In general, we expect our integrated degree students to be sociable and like meeting other people. You shouldn’t be shy about approaching others and working with them on particular tasks. Very good academic performance in science subjects or combined subjects is also important.
If you like working as part of a team and are eager to learn new things, then you’re just right for Festo. While you’re with us, you’re bound to learn something new every day. However, this means that you’re constantly being faced with new questions. We welcome those who tackle challenges in a proactive and independent way, seeing them as an opportunity for growth. We will, of course, provide you with support along the way.
Where can I find out whether there are still places available for the degree course that I’m interested in?
You can find this information amongst the material about applications. If the study option that you’re interested in is showing an ‘occupied’ status, we are no longer accepting applications for this role.
When can I submit my application?
Our application period begins in June each year for traineeships starting in the following year. Our annual Applicants’ Night marks the start of the selection process.
Can I apply online, or is it better to send in my application by post?
If you prefer, you can also send your application documents for our Esslingen am Neckar location to us by post. Both types of applications will be handled in the same way. Whether you opt for online or postal submission, we look forward to receiving your application.
It is no longer possible to apply for an integrated study place at St. Ingbert-Rohrbach by post.
Which documents should I include along with my application?
Your application documents should include a covering letter in which you tell us why you are interested in doing an integrated study course in a particular subject with us. Please also include your CV and your last four school reports (mid-year and end-of-year results). If you have already done a traineeship or have other evidence of your suitability for the course, please include this.
During and after the integrated study course
Will I have the opportunity to travel abroad during my course?
Yes, we attempt to facilitate project-related placements of up to three months – in our companies in the USA, Spain, Italy and the UK, for example.
What are my chances of being taken on as a permanent employee after my integrated study course?
We are generally very keen to offer our DHBW and ASW students a permanent position. Of course, this requires commitment, motivation and personal suitability to the role. You will be able to acquire and demonstrate all of this during your integrated study course.
