Saarland’s night owls come out to play:
Festo opens its doors for Long Night of Industry event
On 28 September 2017 at 6 p.m. on the dot, Festo opened the plant doors at its St. Ingbert location to celebrate its Long Night of Industry event. The evening welcomed over 100 guests, all of whom were keen to discover more about Festo products and what goes on behind the scenes.
From production to logistics
Visitors enjoyed a whistle-stop tour of our production areas complete with state-of-the-art assembly lines. ‘There were various stations – everything was included from production to logistics,’ said Lukas Honecker, who helped to organise Festo’s involvement in the Long Night of Industry for the third time.
As for our younger visitors aged 18 and upwards, our training workshop in the Festo Learning Centre offered an insight into the company’s traineeships. Angela Bartel, a training instructor at Festo, explained the charm of the event: ‘Experiencing daily life at a company first hand is really something special, especially if you are thinking about starting an apprenticeship. How do people work here, what could an apprenticeship at Festo look like? This is what interested the visitors.’
The Long Night of Industry took place in Saarland for the seventh time. Festo has been part of it from the beginning and is looking forward to welcoming many interested visitors from the Saarland region next year.
