We’re so pleased that you’ve decided to apply to work with us. We prefer to receive applications online through our Festo Jobworld. In order to ensure that you can find your way around quickly and easily, we are happy to provide answers to frequently asked questions here.
Information about the online application process
How can I find out about vacancies?
If you have already registered with Festo Jobworld, log in to access your personal profile. Click on the ‘Jobs’ tab and then the ‘Find jobs’ button. You can now either do a full-text search or search according to particular criteria. If you find a suitable job, click on it and start your application by pressing the ‘Apply’ button. If you haven’t yet registered with Festo Jobworld, you can still search for jobs using the ‘Search for jobs’ box, and apply that way.
How up to date are the jobs advertised?
Only jobs for which we have not yet selected a candidate are advertised on Festo Jobworld. As such, our jobs portal is always up to date.
How do I apply to Festo?
Please apply to us online if possible.
Why does Festo prefer online applications?
Online applications are cost-effective: there’s no need for an application portfolio, you don’t need to pay for postage, and so on. By getting rid of the need for posting, online applications can be processed quickly. Everyone who is interested can register with our Jobworld. This allows you to access your personal pages containing your profile. Inputting a profile enables you to apply for advertised positions at any time, and to track the current status of your application through your personal pages.
How does the online application process work?
If you find a job that suits you on Festo Jobworld, you can apply straight away online. Simply click on the ‘Apply’ button. Ideally, you should begin by registering with the Jobworld. This will allow you to access the data that you have entered at any time, allowing you to change or add to it whenever you wish. You can use your profile to apply for jobs at any time.
How do you complete the online application wizard?
Pointers on the first page of the online application wizard and the explanatory text on either side set out the individual steps to follow when filling in the different fields. The order in which you fill them in is up to you. You can use the ‘Save’ button to store the information that you have entered, allowing you to add to it at a later stage if required. Any unsaved data will be lost when you leave the system. The more information you provide, the easier it is for us to make a choice. As soon as you submit your application, it can be viewed by our HR department and considered as part of the selection process.
Is there anything that I need to do before applying?
Please have your documents ready as a single file, so that you can attach them to your application.
Which application documents are required?
Together with your completed application form, you should upload your certificates and references to the system as a file attachment. You could also supplement your profile with other optional documents such as sketches, work samples, etc. Please note that zip files cannot be processed at our end.
Do I have to complete all of the tabs in the ‘My profile’ section?
No, all of the information is optional. You could attach other documents that are relevant to your application here instead.
How should I attach the files?
Ideally, you should attach a composite application portfolio containing certificates, references and – if you have not already covered it in the previous tabs – your CV, all in a single file (in doc, pdf or ppt format). You can add a maximum of three documents with a size of up to 5 MB. Zip files cannot be processed at our end.
Can I take a break from my application and continue with it at a later point (for registered applicants)?
If you have registered with Festo Jobworld, you can enter your user data (user name and password) to log into your personal pages at any time. This means that you can exit the application wizard at any point and return to filling in your application later on. The data that you have saved will be retained.
How will I know whether my application has been received?
After you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email. This is generated automatically and will reach you within a few minutes. This confirms that we have received your application.
How can I check the status of my application(s) (for registered applicants)?
If you have already registered with Festo Jobworld, log in to access your personal profile. Click on the ‘Jobs and applications’ tab and then the ‘My applications’ button. You can find out about the status of your application(s) here.
What happens if I change my candidate profile while the application process for a job is ongoing (for registered applicants)?
Any changes to your candidate profile are effective immediately and are also incorporated into earlier or open applications.
What does the ‘Favourites’ link on my personal pages do (for registered applicants)?
You can store interesting job postings here and apply for them later, if you wish.
What changes can I make using the ‘System preferences’ link (for registered applicants)?
The date format, display format, data overview and preferred language can be adapted to your personal preferences using the ‘System preferences’ link. Changes must be saved.
What is a reference code?
As job positions are often given identical or similar names, they also have a reference code. This allows jobs to be clearly and easily identified. The reference code is specified in each advertisement.
Can I block my Jobworld profile?
Yes – you can use the ‘Enable profile’ link (in the ‘My profile’ tab) to block your personal profile at any time. You can also unblock it again at a later point.
I’ve forgotten my password for the login area. How can I retrieve my data?
Go to the login area and click on ‘Request password’. Then enter your user name and/or the email address that you used to register. You will be sent a new password within a few minutes, which you will have to change when you next log in.
I want to register, but the message ‘This email address is already registered’ pops up.
There are a couple of reasons why you might be getting this message. You may already have registered with us using that email address, or you may have applied to us by post, whereupon we would have entered your details electronically. In both cases please return to the login area, click on ‘Request password’ and request your password by entering your email address. You won’t have to enter your user name.
When uploading attachments, do they have to have a particular format or file size?
In addition to the standard MS Office products such as Word or PowerPoint, you can also upload attachments in pdf, tif or jpg format. Zip files cannot be processed at our end. You can add a maximum of three documents with a size of up to 5 MB. Ideally, you should compile all of your documents in a single file (in doc, pdf or ppt format).
Is there anything that I need to bear in mind when looking at the data overview?
Please allow sufficient time for the data overview to open.
