Our developers took a new approach to handling technology with the Bionic Tripod series. In contrast to conventional gantry systems, the work and drive levels have separate spaces in the three applications.
The separation enables an ultralight parallel kinematic system to be used, which ensures maximum flexibility. The systems are completed with the adaptive gripper fingers with Fin Ray Effect®, which we have tested and further developed in all three applications. The structure of the gripper uses a natural property of the fish fin. When pressed against an object, it gently and securely fits itself around its shape.
Whilst the parallel kinematic system on the two predecessors was suspended or attached horizontally, the Bionic Tripod 3.0 stands vertically on the work surface. The flexible gripper arm can be pivoted here in all directions at an angle of up to 90 degrees, which enables a large workspace.
To make difficult overhead manual work easier. Benefits from the protected drive technology in dusty environments, such as in plasterboard construction, a bakery or a joinery.
For tasks with interactions between human and machine – for example, in agriculture for sorting fruit and vegetables, in industry for sorting recyclable materials or as a ‘third hand’ and ideal helper for all kinds of assembly work.
Ideal for sorting tasks involving pressure-sensitive objects with different sizes and shapes – for example, in food production.
