Festo presents a "new revolution in automation" at Auspack 2019

At this year’s Auspack Exhibition, Festo a supplier of pneumatic and electric automation will showcase exciting new developments and innovations in automation ideal for the processing and packaging industry.

 

A major highlight will be the launch of a genuine Industry 4.0 component on the market for the first time: the breakthrough innovation Festo Motion Terminal VTEM. This is the world’s first pneumatic automation platform to be controlled by apps and demonstrates how digitalisation is making its way into pneumatics. The Motion Terminal comprises of just one piece of hardware in combination with software apps, and can replace more than 50 components, such as different valve functions, controllers and sensors.

 

Other highlights include working displays of the EXCT handler, a 2-axis linear gantry that delivers excellent dynamic movement in the vertical and horizontal axis. Enhanced with the latest gripper and drive technology, these type of systems provide advanced dynamic positioning and motion control in pick and place and assembly applications. The displays feature gripper fingers DHAS and the new adaptive shape gripper DHEF which can independently adjust to different products and shapes. Customers can view how objects with different shapes can be handled and how the combination of technologies from Festo provides suitable solutions for a variety of applications in packing and filling as well as orientation tasks.

 

One of the potential cost saving opportunities associated with compressed air systems is the MSE6-E2M energy saving unit. The award winning Energy Efficiency Module is a world first that not only measures pressure and flow data in line with Industry 4.0, it can evaluate the information on the spot, make decisions based on the information and initiate suitable measures. The unique energy efficiency air preparation unit can reduce losses from equipment on stand-by and diagnose leaks. If energy management is a key focus area for your business then this is one product worth the investment.

 

Festo will also present solutions for process automation, they include valves for controlling and shutting off a wide range of media. Pinch valves VZQA and angle seat valves VZXA easily adapt to diverse requirements, maximising flexibilty and minimising the effort involved in designing applications.

 

With the growing trend for control cabinet installations, Festo will feature the universal valve terminal VTUG which has been specially designed for installation in control cabinets, and in addition will also showcase our range of IO-Link-capable automation technology.
