The electric toothed belt axis ELGG from Festo features two slides synchronised by a single toothed belt and powered by a single motor. The axis is quick and cost-effective to install and operate.
The ELGG can handle several tasks in one step thanks to a well thought-out design featuring a single toothed belt that drives two bi-parting slides. This intelligent synchronisation means that the electric toothed belt axis ELGG needs only one motor to power it. This makes it particularly functional and cost-effective in use. The optional centre support ensures extra torsional stiffness and enables the drive to execute especially long strokes with ease.
Reducing costs and energy consumption
The electric toothed belt axis ELGG centres, sorts, separates and spreads quickly and energy-efficiently. It opens doors in seconds flat and reliably handles a wide range of gripping tasks. The new ELGG is ideally suited to the assembly of small parts and is also in its element in the photovoltaic and flat panel industry. The electric toothed belt axis from Festo also demonstrates its capabilities in packaging and special machines as well as in handling, transport and conveyor technology.
The simple and flexible design saves weight and therefore energy, as well as reducing maintenance costs and installation effort. An important reason for this, apart from the design advantages, is the comprehensive range of accessories. The wide range of mounting attachments, the sophisticated sensors including proximity sensors, switching lugs and sensor brackets as well as axial kits for Festo stepper and servo motors enable quick and easy installation in both new and existing systems. With an impressive service life of 5,000 km, the ELGG is also extremely reliable.
The ELGG can be easily and reliably configured using the PositioningDrives software. Drive packages in stepper motor and servo technology matched to the axes guarantee quick selection and correct sizing. The slides are moved with low wear via either a ball bearing or plain-bearing guide. Commissioning can be performed quickly and conveniently via the Festo Configuration Tool FCT.
