EPCO combines the simplicity of a pneumatic cylinder with the positioning advantages of an electric drive – yet is much more affordable than an electric positioning system. This universal electric cylinder is ideally suited e.g. for feeding parts, inserting, removing, loading a magazine, retaining, as a stop, etc. In other words for all straightforward handling and positioning tasks in small parts and electronics assembly where multiple positions need to be approached.

The multi-position drive offers high thrust forces and is fast and compact: the motor and controller are pre-installed. What makes the drive so efficient? EPCO is available as a complete “Optimised Motion Series” system with pre-assembled cables, matching motor controller CMMO-ST as well as software for fast commissioning using a web server/browser concept.
At the heart of the Festo positioning system "Optimised Motion Series", the electric cylinder EPCO is a prime example of the easy and low-cost use of electric cylinders in factory automation. With the two software tools "WebConfig" and "WebDiag", web configuration and web diagnostics are incredibly simple in conjunction with the motor controller CMMO - with no need for a PLC. This provides security as the individual components will always fit together. Incorrect dimensioning is virtually impossible.
