CoDeSys version 3 - A hardware independent introduction to CoDeSys
CoDeSys version 3 - A hardware independent introduction to CoDeSys

Flexibility despite a high degree of automation is one of the most important challenges in manufacturing companies. It demands the integration and networking of different controls in a complex automation system. This is complicated by the huge variety of programming software available. Differences in user interface, functionality and command sets cause confusion and make mistakes more likely. CoDeSys – a tried and tested, globally-introduced hardware-independent software from 3S offers a Controller Development System according to the IEC 61131-3 with all defined programming languages independent of the hardware manufacturer. This training demystifies CoDeSys and gives participants confidence in using it.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting of electropneumatic systems using PLC controls
Maintenance and Troubleshooting of electropneumatic systems using PLC controls

This course allows you to extend your technical and methodological knowledge and to identify and eliminate faults without delay using a systematic procedure and the ability to understand the functional relationships of complex machinery.

Mastering the basics of electrical drives
Mastering the basics of electrical drives

As electrical drives are increasingly used in industry, many mechanical engineers and technicians are confronted with this new and initially complex technology and are expected to be able to commission and maintain it. This is a daunting prospect for anyone that has not had proper training. This course aims to provide this target group with the attitudes, skills and knowledge they need to master the basics. On completion of the training participants are able to select the most appropriate components for a given application, safely commission drives, and locate and eliminate simple faults.

Mastering machinery safety 2
Mastering machinery safety 2

Machinery can be a combination of machines. In this case we are dealing with an Integrated Manufacturing System (IMS). The information about IMS can be found in the harmonised standard EN ISO 11161:2010 Safety of machinery – Integrated manufacturing systems – Basic requirements.

Mastering machinery safety 1

Since December 2009 it is compulsory to use the “new” machinery directive 2006/42/EC. This requirement together with the harmonised standards could translate into a significant change in your organization. Other than several small modifications and additions, the new IIB declaration (referred to as the declaration of incorporation) is also introduced. Technical files and user manuals with information about transportation, installation, commissioning, adjustment, maintenance, disassembly, scraping and recycling must be created and delivered with the partially completed machinery.

Systematic safety improvement in pneumatic systems
Systematic safety improvement in pneumatic systems

Just like good functionality and economic efficiency, safety is essential to the success of any product. What is more, the European directives and standards require intelligent solutions and raise the level of professional skills required. As a result, there is a wide range of different products, information and qualifications for safety engineering. However, most of them focus on the control level. This course familiarises participants with integrated control and pneumatic solutions for the right commissioning, troubleshooting, set-up, maintenance and simple optimisation of a system.

Vacuum in handling technology
Vacuum in handling technology

In this training course, participants learn about the basic specifics of vacuum compared to compressed air.
The production of vacuum, selection of the right suction cups, and also opportunities for cost reduction
are mainly covered.

CoDeSys version 3 - A hardware independent introduction to PLC programming
CoDeSys version 3 - A hardware independent introduction to PLC programming

In order to master the fast-changing requirements of embedded and PC-controlled industrial applications, it is increasingly important to master and apply different programming languages. This is complicated by the huge variety of programming software available. Differences in user-interface, functionality and commands sets cause confusion and make mistakes more likely. CoDeSys – a tried and tested, globally-introduced hardware-independent software from 3S offers a Controller Development System according to the IEC 61131-3 with all defined programming languages independent of the hardware manufacturer. This training demystifies CoDeSys and gives participants confidence in using it.

CoDeSys Fundamentals for PLC Programmers
CoDeSys Fundamentals for PLC Programmers

Despite a high degree of automation, flexibility is one of the most important challenges in manufacturing companies. It demands the integration and networking of different controls in a complex automation system. This is further complicated by the huge variety of programming software available. Differences in user-interfaces, functionality and command sets cause confusion and make mistakes more likely.

Introduction to Energy Saving on Compressed Air Systems
Introduction to Energy Saving on Compressed Air Systems

This module is designed to assist those who work with compressed air systems to fully understand the costs, and potential waste of energy, associated with compressed air use. Methods and practices to reduce leaks and inappropriate use of compressed air are discussed, as well as the need to set and maintain optimum settings.

Modern industrial pneumatics
Modern industrial pneumatics

Designed as a general introduction, this pneumatic training course aims to familiarise delegates with the design, construction and operation of pneumatic components. This includes the interpretation of circuit diagrams and symbols as well as the construction of control systems.
Practical sessions give delegates the opportunity to put theory into practice. Working from the diagrams they have produced, delegates have to select the correct components from a range of equipment and build the circuits, making the necessary adjustments for pressure, flow and sequence.
