An overview of the automation platform CPX
Single-platform solutions
• Digital and analogue standard tasks
• Demanding I/O tasks with single-channel diagnostics and parameterisation
• Temperature, displacement and pressure measurement
• Electrical and pneumatic safety functions
• Integrated, comprehensive diagnostics and condition monitoring
• Subordinate, decentralised installation system
Combine these functions directly with the operating elements
• Pilot or process valves
• Control valves for cylinders, grippers, vacuum
• Pressure regulators
• Servopneumatic positioning systems
• Electric drives and axes
For control, choose from fi eldbus/Ethernet as remote I/O or the following front-end controllers:
• CPX-FEC (Festo mini control system)
• CPX-CEC (CODESYS controller with 32-bit processor, 400 MHz, CANopen master)
• PC Worx (controller for control environments from Phoenix Contact)

Ready-to-install solutions: Sub-assemblies
The Festo product portfolio includes around 30,000 individual components,
which can be preassembled to create a sub-assembly based on their function. Accessories such as fittings and connections can also be assembled on the unit. The sub-assembly can thus be installed directly in the system or in the higher-level system as a ready-to-install subsystem.

CogniGame
Control by the power of thought
New operational concepts for human-machine interaction
GogniGame is a reinterpretation of a table tennis simulation game,
which was launched on the market in the 1970s. As in table tennis, the players used a joystick in order to move a bar up and down the screen to hit a ball back to their opponent. If a player did not
manage to hit the ball, his opponent was awarded a point.

More productivity with optimally cushioned pneumatic cylinders
White paper
With the right end-position cushioning, you can significantly increase the efficiency of your entire pneumatic system.
When used to its full effect, it can improve cycle times and even reduce the size of the components used.
And all this for the simple reason that good end-position cushioning decreases the impact forces generated by changing loads and extreme dynamic stress – factors that play a crucial role in defining the travel time and speed of pneumatic cylinders.

White Paper: Tips for overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) in food and beverage production
Maximum availability is not something that happens by chance, it’s the result of forward-looking action. Processing food economically and at the right time is absolutely essential. Otherwise there is a risk that production has to be stopped and raw materials are wasted.
Taking overall equipment effectiveness into consideration provides clear guidance on how to maximise productivity, and thus on economic operation of the system. But which influencing factors affect overall equipment effectiveness and how to get started on the path to optimisation?

Reliable processes thanks to perfect compressed air preparation
Anyone who wants to improve process reliability through increased machine availability must start at the very beginning – and first analyse the compressed air supply in detail. Particles, water and oil are the natural enemies of prepared
compressed air. They have an adverse effect on the components and cost additional energy.
